PROGRAM IN LATINO STUDIES IN THE GLOBAL SOUTH
Prof. María DeGuzmán, Director of the UNC Latina/o Studies Program (LSP), and Prof. Claudia Milian, Director of the Program in Latino/a Studies in the Global South at Duke (LSGS), broke the programmatic ice this 2016-17 academic year and hosted the first Directors' Lecture Exchange Series. LSP and LSGS are one-of-a-kind academic programs in the U.S. Southeast.
Prof. DeGuzmán focused on Latina and Latino writers in the Southeast. Prof. Milian spoke on the topic of Central American migrations.
